Google Alerts, currently in Beta, are email updates of the latest relevant Google results (web, news, etc.) based on your choice of query or topic.

I have setup ones for Coldfusion, AIR, Flex etc.

If you have a google account, you can simply register and setup your alerts. If you don't have an account you can still setup the alerts but you need to confirm them via email.

If this is of any interest to you, take a look at:

Adobe Developer Week took place last week. I only managed to catch a few of the sessions, but they have been recorded and are available from the link below.

Also, there are some great recordings on the Coldfusion Meetup site on a range of different development topics. If you're not a member - I'd strongly advise signing up!

You can obtain the sample code from each of the Coldfusion 8 Web Application Construction Kits from here

This will give you a head-start at least into using some of the new functionality available.

Also, Ben Nadel has some good posts on learning CF8.

Adobe Share Beta

Adobe Share , Misc , Online Resources No Comments »

Adobe have recently announced the release of "Share" - a free web-based service that allows you to easily share and publish documents.

Some of the features include:

  • Send documents without email attachments.

  • Access your documents from anywhere.

  • View all the documents you have shared or received in one place.

  • Post a link to your document on a wiki or blog.

  • Embed a Flash® preview of your document on any website.

  • Limit access to a document to a list of recipients.

The most exciting being the ability to Embed a preview of your document.

The good thing about this service is that it allows you to build applications and mashups using the Share APIs, which can be found in the Share API wiki.

Also, of course, Ray Camden has been on the ball and released a Share CFC encapsulating most methods required to utilise this service.

The CFC can be downloaded from here --> Get the CFC
